He is prepared for what we think is our worse!

Jesus Calms the Storm
Mathew 8:23-27 says
23Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
Our life which is nothing less than a boat is traveling in this earth on a journey to eternity. Just as in sea there are so many things – things that are good, bad, beautiful and ugly, our earth is full of goodness and sinfulness and in this journey we sail across on our boat.

We remember the day when Jesus walked into our boats. He walked in to our life and we started a new journey to sail. Life has been great ever since He is in our boat and slowly and steadily we started sailing and we have reached this far; but in this journey, Jesus is now in one corner and is sleeping. He is sleeping because we have been so busy with our own work that he got sleepy J
When we are sailing, we do have furious storms arising in our life. A storm of sickness and pain, a storm of disaster that has completely swept our lives, we get worried and at this point we start finding “where is Jesus?”. He’s right there in that corner sleeping at ease. It’s not that He is not feeling the disaster and pain in our life. He is in our boat and He feels the same as we feel, but He is waiting for us to ask ourselves – Where is Jesus?

Just like His disciples we find Him out and wake Him up. In our pain we call unto Him “God save us, we are going to drown!”

But Jesus who knows the end from the beginning, who is the alpha and the omega, the first and last very well knew that we will go though this phase of our life. He is prepared Himself for the worse that could come upon us and that’s why He is sleeping at ease. The moment you realize that the situation is out of control and is no more manageable, the moment we call upon Him, He wakes up just to make us sure that “I am still in control. I am still in business to make you something out of nothing!” and in a fraction of second, He who has authority over the heavens and the earth, the entire cosmos and everything that has been ever created turns the situation and makes us sail back smoothly.

That’s what our Jesus is all about. He is all there right near us and will act at the right time. It’s just that we need to abide by His words. His words say” Call upon the day of trouble and I will hear you”. Nothing is hidden from Him. He knows everything and He who knows everything and who has a plan for you and me, is well prepared to handle the worst situation of our life.

He is still in control of us; all we need to do is humble ourselves and remember Him, wait on Him and see How well He accomplishes His business in making you something out of nothing!

He’s born in my manger

Posted by admin On December - 20 - 2009 1 COMMENT

I remember that chilly, stormy night. A cold breeze was all around my town. A blanket alone could not keep me warm. I shut all the doors and windows of my motel. I made sure that all those who were inside my motel were safe and secure. I gave them their blankets, and made their beds. I asked them to go to bed with a free mind as I would keep a watch.

My motel was overcrowded. People from all over the nation were coming to the town in order to abide by the law of the nation. I got some wood from the barn in the backyard and put it into the fire place. I rubbed hard to light the fire and it slowly made my motel warm.

I was happy that I had given the best service to the people who sought shelter in my motel. I was happy that I had utilized my motel for the service of humanity. I took a blanket and covered myself. I sat at the motel entrance and keep my eyes open. I could see people walking with great pain. The storm was not letting them move. From a distance, I could see a man walking beside a donkey. I saw him taking special care of the lady seated on the donkey. They walked slowly and after every few steps the man would stop and look upto the heavens and then to the lady. They walked on the straight road that led to my motel. I was worried that I would have to say no to them.

They walked closer to me. They saw the board “Motel Full” and stopped. I took a deep breath and thought within myself, thank god they are not going to knock. The looked at each other and then walked to me. They knocked at my door. They knocked again and again and again and I reluctantly opened it. Before they said anything, I told them to read the board. They looked at me with eyes full of hope and all I could say way I am helpless, I looked closely at the lady and found her in great pain. I quickly realized that she was in labour pains.

I didn’t wish to say no but I had no room for them. I quickly realized that as I walked by to the barn, I had seen some space in my manger. I looked at them and said “Sorry I don’t have a room for you, nor can I serve you with a blanket as all my hospitality is given to the guests in my motel, but all I can is offer you my manger and leave you to your fate.”

They were happy to hear these words and blessed me with their heart. That night an Immanuel was born in my manger. All my efforts for my guests, all my hospitality didn’t count, but the manger that I offered them counts till today. People remember my manger every year on Christmas.

Guys no matter what good you do, not matter how much you give, until you have a space for the Immanuel you gain nothing. No matter if it’s a small old manager at the backyard of your life, if Immanuel is in your life, you have made the best of your life.

GOD’S got more identities.

1. God is Love He is known to be the source of blessing. His unconditional love is beyond any explanation. Even the Bible I feel is too confined to express His holy love for His people. 1 John4:8 says Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. Love and god are two faces of the same coin. There is no love without god nor is there existence of god if there is no love in Him

2. God is Life 1 John 5:20 says We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true–even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. He is the eternal life and in Him we find our eternity.

3. God is Light 1 John 1:5 says This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. God is the light; In Him there is no darkness at all. God is my Light and my salvation, and because He is light, I shall not be afraid of anything.

4. God is Spirit John 4:24 says God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth. He is spirit. His third form in trinity is Holy Spirit. His current existence in this world is in the form of Holy Spirit that guides us. He is our counselor, our comforter and our helper. He is Jehovah the Spirit

5. God is bread and living water John 4:20 says Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water. He is the bread and water that can quench our eternal thirst and hunger. Whoever eats from Him and drink from Him abides with Him forever.

6. God is Jesus John 3:16 says “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that who so ever may believe in Him shall not perish but have an everlasting life. Jesus is one form among the trinity in God.

7. God is Immanuel Mathew 1:23 says “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”–which means, “God with us.” God came into this world in form of Jesus whose name is Immanuel which means God is with us always

8. God is Alpha and Omega “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation1:8 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Revelation 22:13

9. God is Lord of Lords and King of Kings 1 Timothy 6:15 which God will bring about in his own time–God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, He is the King of Kings and He is the Lord of Lords, He reigns above all , He has the authority in heaven and on earth. He is the only one who defined Himself as “I am who I am”

10. God is a Shepherd Psalms 23:1 says God is my Shepherd and I shall not be in want. He guides us through all our life way and leads us to quite waters and green pastures. This means He is the good who gives us our supplements. He is the one who is there for us, even when we walk through the darkest of our life. His rod and staff work for our comforts.
