Jesus Calms the Storm
Mathew 8:23-27 says
23Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
Our life which is nothing less than a boat is traveling in this earth on a journey to eternity. Just as in sea there are so many things – things that are good, bad, beautiful and ugly, our earth is full of goodness and sinfulness and in this journey we sail across on our boat.

We remember the day when Jesus walked into our boats. He walked in to our life and we started a new journey to sail. Life has been great ever since He is in our boat and slowly and steadily we started sailing and we have reached this far; but in this journey, Jesus is now in one corner and is sleeping. He is sleeping because we have been so busy with our own work that he got sleepy J
When we are sailing, we do have furious storms arising in our life. A storm of sickness and pain, a storm of disaster that has completely swept our lives, we get worried and at this point we start finding “where is Jesus?”. He’s right there in that corner sleeping at ease. It’s not that He is not feeling the disaster and pain in our life. He is in our boat and He feels the same as we feel, but He is waiting for us to ask ourselves – Where is Jesus?

Just like His disciples we find Him out and wake Him up. In our pain we call unto Him “God save us, we are going to drown!”

But Jesus who knows the end from the beginning, who is the alpha and the omega, the first and last very well knew that we will go though this phase of our life. He is prepared Himself for the worse that could come upon us and that’s why He is sleeping at ease. The moment you realize that the situation is out of control and is no more manageable, the moment we call upon Him, He wakes up just to make us sure that “I am still in control. I am still in business to make you something out of nothing!” and in a fraction of second, He who has authority over the heavens and the earth, the entire cosmos and everything that has been ever created turns the situation and makes us sail back smoothly.

That’s what our Jesus is all about. He is all there right near us and will act at the right time. It’s just that we need to abide by His words. His words say” Call upon the day of trouble and I will hear you”. Nothing is hidden from Him. He knows everything and He who knows everything and who has a plan for you and me, is well prepared to handle the worst situation of our life.

He is still in control of us; all we need to do is humble ourselves and remember Him, wait on Him and see How well He accomplishes His business in making you something out of nothing!

Listen to a inn keepers story and how he cherishes the fact that Jesus was born in his manger. This Christmas lets be an inn keeper

I remember that chilly, stormy night. A cold breeze was all around my town. A blanket alone could not keep me warm. I shut all the doors and windows of my motel. I made sure that all those who were inside my motel were safe and secure. I gave them their blankets, and made their beds. I asked them to go to bed with a free mind as I would keep a watch.

My motel was overcrowded. People from all over the nation were coming to the town in order to abide by the law of the nation. I got some wood from the barn in the backyard and put it into the fire place. I rubbed hard to light the fire and it slowly made my motel warm.

I was happy that I had given the best service to the people who sought shelter in my motel. I was happy that I had utilized my motel for the service of humanity. I took a blanket and covered myself. I sat at the motel entrance and keep my eyes open. I could see people walking with great pain. The storm was not letting them move. From a distance, I could see a man walking beside a donkey. I saw him taking special care of the lady seated on the donkey. They walked slowly and after every few steps the man would stop and look upto the heavens and then to the lady. They walked on the straight road that led to my motel. I was worried that I would have to say no to them.

They walked closer to me. They saw the board “Motel Full” and stopped. I took a deep breath and thought within myself, thank god they are not going to knock. The looked at each other and then walked to me. They knocked at my door. They knocked again and again and again and I reluctantly opened it. Before they said anything, I told them to read the board. They looked at me with eyes full of hope and all I could say way I am helpless, I looked closely at the lady and found her in great pain. I quickly realized that she was in labour pains.

I didn’t wish to say no but I had no room for them. I quickly realized that as I walked by to the barn, I had seen some space in my manger. I looked at them and said “Sorry I don’t have a room for you, nor can I serve you with a blanket as all my hospitality is given to the guests in my motel, but all I can is offer you my manger and leave you to your fate.”

They were happy to hear these words and blessed me with their heart. That night an Immanuel was born in my manger. All my efforts for my guests, all my hospitality didn’t count, but the manger that I offered them counts till today. People remember my manger every year on Christmas.

Guys no matter what good you do, not matter how much you give, until you have a space for the Immanuel you gain nothing. No matter if it’s a small old manager at the backyard of your life, if Immanuel is in your life, you have made the best of your life.

GOD'S got more identities is all about ten different identities of God and referencve in scriptures

1. God is Love He is known to be the source of blessing. His unconditional love is beyond any explanation. Even the Bible I feel is too confined to express His holy love for His people. 1 John4:8 says Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. Love and god are two faces of the same coin. There is no love without god nor is there existence of god if there is no love in Him

2. God is Life 1 John 5:20 says We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true–even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. He is the eternal life and in Him we find our eternity.

3. God is Light 1 John 1:5 says This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. God is the light; In Him there is no darkness at all. God is my Light and my salvation, and because He is light, I shall not be afraid of anything.

4. God is Spirit John 4:24 says God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth. He is spirit. His third form in trinity is Holy Spirit. His current existence in this world is in the form of Holy Spirit that guides us. He is our counselor, our comforter and our helper. He is Jehovah the Spirit

5. God is bread and living water John 4:20 says Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water. He is the bread and water that can quench our eternal thirst and hunger. Whoever eats from Him and drink from Him abides with Him forever.

6. God is Jesus John 3:16 says “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that who so ever may believe in Him shall not perish but have an everlasting life. Jesus is one form among the trinity in God.

7. God is Immanuel Mathew 1:23 says “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”–which means, “God with us.” God came into this world in form of Jesus whose name is Immanuel which means God is with us always

8. God is Alpha and Omega “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation1:8 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Revelation 22:13

9. God is Lord of Lords and King of Kings 1 Timothy 6:15 which God will bring about in his own time–God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, He is the King of Kings and He is the Lord of Lords, He reigns above all , He has the authority in heaven and on earth. He is the only one who defined Himself as “I am who I am”

10. God is a Shepherd Psalms 23:1 says God is my Shepherd and I shall not be in want. He guides us through all our life way and leads us to quite waters and green pastures. This means He is the good who gives us our supplements. He is the one who is there for us, even when we walk through the darkest of our life. His rod and staff work for our comforts.

Some facts that make Jehovah the God above all Gods can be found out from different names He has • Jehovah or Yahweh - His majesty. "I am the LORD, that is My Name; I will not give to another, or My Praise to idols." (Isaiah 42:8)

Some facts that make Jehovah the God above all Gods can be found out from different names He has • Jehovah or Yahweh – His majesty. “I am the LORD, that is My Name; I will not give to another, or My Praise to idols.” (Isaiah 42:8)

Yes Gods name is majestic. He is a god full of majesty and He is quiet vocal in saying out in the above verse that He is a God who will not let His name or praise be given to any other idols.

He has maintained His consistent dignity all through the Bible from the Old Testament to the New Testament without any change. •

Jehovah Tsidkenu or Yahweh Tsidkenu – our righteousness. “In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the Name by which He will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.” (Jeremiah 23:6) Yes God has been a righteous God. He has dealt situation in His righteousness. Even when the Israelites sinned against Him, He didn’t let go His righteousness. He made sure that they were punished for the sins they did and later out of His love free them from the bondage of slavery. His righteousness is no way of any doubts. •

Jehovah Mekaddsh or Yahweh Mekaddsh – He sanctifies. “Keep My decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.” (Leviticus 20:8) God has been holy in all ways. From the beginning of the existence to till date he has been holy. He was crucified and even Pilate declared to the Jews, “I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him” (Jn. 19: 4). Pilate had earlier officially announced, “I find in him no fault at all” (Jn. 18: 38). He is Holy and He is a God who sanctifies. His dwelling place is Holy as it is written “The priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard them, for their prayer reached heaven, his holy dwelling place.” 2 Chronicles 30:27 •

Jehovah Shalom or Yahweh Shalom – He is peace. “So Gideon built an altar to the LORD there and called it The LORD is Peace.” (Judges 6:24) Romans 16:19 says God of Peace will soon crush Satan under His feet. God the Jehovah is a God of Peace. His everlasting peace is powerful to mend the broken heart and heal the wounded and His peace surpasses all unserstanding. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. • J

ehovah Shammah or Yahweh Shammah – He is there. “And the name of the city from that time on will be: The LORD is There.” (Ezekiel 48:35) Yes He is there right besides you. He is everywhere, He is omnipresent. Call unto Him at the time of trouble and He will lift you up. He is close to the broken heart. Jehovah Shammah is unique, calling unto His name itself makes you feel about His closeness. •

Jehovah Rophe or Yahweh Rophe – He heals. “If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His eyes, if you pay attention to His commands and keep all His decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26) Yes He is the God that heals our disease. His name is powerful to do miracles. Peter and John who went to pray asked the lame man to rise up and walk in Jesus name and He rose up and walked. Acts 3:6-11. The Church must meet spiritual needs. “Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” “Be Healed in Jesus name”, yes that’s what is you need to say to your sickness with all your faith and receive you healing in faith. Amen •

Jehovah Jireh or Yahweh Jireh – He provides. “Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The LORD will Provide. And to this day it is said, ‘On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.” (Genesis 22:13-14) Yes right from the beginning God has presented Himself as a giver. My God is never taken anything, all that He has done is given. He created Adam and found him alone and provided him with a help Eve. He found them naked and provided them with clothes to wear. He gave Abraham a lamb to offer a sacrifice and He gave him Isaac in the days of his old age. He is a God who provided manna to Israelites; He is god who provided Joseph’s needs. He is a god who has provides and fulfills the needs of His people. “And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19) •

Jehovah Nissi or Yahweh Nissi – my banner. “Moses built an altar and called it The LORD is my Banner.” (Exodus 17:15) God is our banner of victory for all the battles we fight. No matter how difficult the battle is for us. If Jehovah is out Nissi then our victory is for sure. When Israel was wandering in the wilderness after miraculously crossing the Red Sea. Amalek was the enemy who came against Israel in Rephidim. In Exodus 17:8-16 Moses called on his young apprentice, Joshua, to lead the Israelites into battle while he stationed himself on top of a hill to pray. He had with him his brother Aaron and his assistant, Hur. As Moses lifted his hands and prayed, the Israelites prevailed in the battle but when he let his hands down, Amalek prevailed. So Aaron and Hur set Moses on a rock and held his hands up for him until the battle was totally won. At the end of the day there was victory. Instead of raising a flag, Moses built an altar because in those times, an altar was often used as a place of remembering or marking an important event. This is where Moses called God Jehovah Nissi Jehovah Rhoi or Yahweh Rhoi – my shepherd. “The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.” (Psalm 23:1) Yes He is Jehovah Rhoi for us, He is our good shepherd. He guides us through all our life way and leads us to quite waters and green pastures. This means He is the good who gives us our supplements. He is the one who is there for us, even when we walk through the darkest of our life. His rod and staff work for our comforts. He is Jehovah Rhoi who prepares a table of honor for us and anoints our head with oil. He is who He is. •

El Shaddai – the Almighty. “I am the LORD. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty…” (Exodus 6:3) “I am God Almighty, walk before me and be blameless.” (Genesis 17:1) “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory.” (Isaiah 6:3) Mighty god, who is all powerful and victories, who has been present over the ages, who appeared to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Who lead the whole of Israel for 40 years through the wilderness and made them reach the promise land, He is Jehovah the Almighty, he is Jehovah El Shaddai. • El Elyon – the Most High God, the Exalted One. “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. And blessed be God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand.” (Genesis 14:19-20) Yes, Bible places Jehovah on the Most High place, He has heaven his seating place with earth as his foothold “‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me? says the Lord. Or where will my resting place be? Act 7:49 He is Jehovah the Most High the one who is exalted. The angels exalt Him non stop and sing Hosanna to His name •

El Olam – God of eternity, God the everlasting One. “Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called upon the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.” (Genesis 21:33) “Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.” Isaiah 26:4) “Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.” (Psalm 90:2) Jehovah is a solid rock, a firm foundation that can never be shaken nor can it be defeated. He is Eternal, He is the beginning and the end, the faith and the last. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is Jehovah El Olam! •

El Berith – God of the covenant. “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” (Genesis 12:2-3) “I will confirm my covenant between Me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.” (Genesis 17:2) He made covenants and has kept it till date. He made covenant with Noah and still abides to it. He made a covenant with Abraham and made sure to remember it even at his old age. He made a covenant to send His own son to the face of the earth and He did it. He’s made a covenant to come back and He will make it this time too. •

El Roi – God who sees. “You are the God who sees me.” (Genesis 16:13) Nothing is hidden from His eyes, We may not see things with are naked eyes but His eyes can pierce into everything. He is the one and only one person with whom nothing is hidden Hen 4:13 says: Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. He is Jehova the El Roi. •

El Hoseem – God who creates. “I am the LORD, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by me.” (Isaiah 44:24) Genesis 1:1 says “In the beginning god created the heavens and the earth’ He is one who create, He has made everything that is seen, from heaven to earth everything is gods unique creation. He is the one who created you and me. He is the one who holds our future, He is Jehovah El Hoseem

No one is like you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is mighty in power Jeremiah 10:6 That’s right.

There is no one like our Lord who is the King of Kings, the Lord of Lord, who is the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. There is no one like Him who is omnipresent, omni potential and omniscient His name is above all names and there is no comparison that can stand against Him. Let me share few verses from the Bible that will help me in explaining why Gods name is unique •

”In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His Holy Name. May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in You.” (Psalm 33:21-22) •

”Let them praise Your great and Awesome Name – He is Holy.” (Psalm 99:3) •

“Glory in His Holy Name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.” (Psalm 105:3) •

“Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to Your Holy Name and glory in Your praise.” (Psalm 146:47) •

”Holy and awesome is His Name.” (Psalm 111:9) •

“I will bow down toward Your Holy temple and will praise Your Name for Your love and Your faithfulness, for You have exalted above all things Your Name and Your word.” (Psalm 138:2) •

”My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD. Let every creature praise His Holy Name for ever and ever.” (Psalm 145:21)

They say that being well-organized adds allot to your life. It’s true that a well-organized person is likely to get more done, and automatically be more reliable through keeping track of all of the details. Those that keep track of everything can then plan things out to make sure that they get accomplished.

No matter how well organized your life is, things almost never go exactly as planned. Some days there are little wrinkles in the plan, and others are so messed-up that you need to salvage what you can, and make plans for another day.

The key is to stay in prayer, and be flexible. Put God first, and remember that He is ultimately in control, even when the well-planned day goes completely different than you planned.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

2 Timothy 4:7, 8

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

That’s what you should be able to say at the end of the day. Every fight you fight again Satan and his most deceiving plans, just look onto the cross, and fight your battle against all odds.Satan’s deceiving tactics are nothing less lies, hatred, envy, addiction, flirting, evil and lustful desires and actions and more beyond that. Fight on the fight with your faith anchored on our Lord Jesus, with Word of God as the double edge sword and above all out on the full amour of God as it says in Ephesians 6:10-18

“10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”

God Bless!

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

1 Timothy 6:11

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Christian life is a battleground. We have to fight a good fight daily with Satan, his plans and his tactics. Every single moment as Bible says sin is at our doorsteps, Satan has well placed it that a single slip and we will fall into it. But Behold, be glad and rejoice in Christ for his your strong foundation. Your faith in Him is what leads to through the trials and temptations. Hold on to your faith and use the Word of God as your weapon. Fight a good fight and hold on to your faith. God has an eternal life to gift you for the faith you hold on!

Look towards the unseen eternal life with your faith!

God Bless!

Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

1 Peter 5:9

Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

Yes, resist him and he will flee. He is none other our old serpent Satan. Satan has bee working left and right to deceive people and set them away from God. Every time he does that he finds that the maze is getting more complicated. His same old trick work no more. He is been constantly improving his skills in deceiving people. But till date Satan has never been able to device a person who stands firm in Faith. Faith in God is the key to resist him. Just like Job resist him no matter what may come, for one thing be sure of – God may let Satan try deceive you but will never let him get over you. He says to Satan for Job – He is in your hand, but spare his life.

So hand on to the faith you have in God, build it strong and stand firm on it. There is no way the serpent can gloat over you for your Faith in God will obstruct Satan and crush him under your feet.

God Bless!
