When things work against your faith…

When things work against your faith…

I have always been a strong preacher of faith and I not just preach but also have experience that faith has the power to work beyond any material potentiality and can work impossible things possible.

Jesus during his ministry in this world had repeatedly shared about having faith and living a life of faith. Jesus says if you have faith like a mustard seed then if you command the mountains to move it will.

The Old Testament says about great personalities who lived a life full of faith and experience the miracles in their life. Look at

-           Abraham who by faith became father in his old age.

-          By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death

-          By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen

-          By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born’

-          By faith the people passed through the Red Sea

-          By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the people had marched around them for seven days

-          And so on…

But what makes in our life is what we preach for. In our lives we have seen repeatedly that Gods amazing in His ways and has always met the standards His children have laid. We always put our standards that our God will help us and lead us. God has been faithful in blessing our Faith and helping us to nurture our faith. But why is it so that when we lose on fight in faith we ask a big list of questions with WHY?

-          Why God?

-          Why didn’t you help?

-          Why are you silent?

-          Why have you hid your face?

-          Why is your existence being question within me?

-          And so on….

But let me remind you one verse from the Bible –“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

When we are fighting the most toughest battle in faith many a times we find that things start working against our faith and probably ends against all out expectations.

It was few days before where even I went through a tough face where my faith was questioned. It was a moment that I could not believe upon. Over the past year the faith that I kept on my Lord about deliverance was not answered and the final outcome was against all my expectations and I went clueless of what’s happening.

I was fighting within me why this happened and suddenly my attention was taken to the book of Daniel chapter 3

16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

I was again thinking on why God sent this word to me and I realized that when I combined both the verse, I find that with my strong faith and humanly mind I have limited wisdom and in my wisdom I have been putting a prayer request with faith.

God clearly says that nothing bad can happen to anyone who is in Christ. God cannot be wrong in His verse and as for faith lets have a faith such as Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

Let’s be firm in faith that even if death falls on us, our faith in God will never stumble. We have faith like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego that God will definitely protect us and bless our faith in Him, but even if He does not us nee to know that whatever happens, it happens for our blessing for the creator knows what’s the best for His creation.

The one who has made us so fearfully and wonderfully knows what THE perfect thing for our life. We with out limited knowledge cannot see beyond a scope and thus find at times that we have lost our battle in faith but lets still hang on no matter what comes against our faith, let our ship of life be anchored on the firm foundation in Christ and see how the master has created a perfect plan for us.

 God bless our Faith

The perfect Captain

Posted by admin On December - 20 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Every flight has a takeoff and a landing. The perfectionist knows the perfect time for departure and arrival. The crew on board need not worry for anything. I know my Captain is a perfectionist!!!

Well said, that’s the thought I just got in my mind when I found something that has yet hurt me. I know its no ones fault but I know yet again I am hurt.

Why did this come into my mind, I just start realizing the fact that yes my captain is a perfectionist. He will not take off nor will he land in a place where I am not meant for. No matter what comes I know for sure that my captain will never let me die.

I am thinking about a air flight. If you have ever traveled by a plane you will understand.

You need to take a ticket and either a visa or a visa on arrival before you board a plane. The moment you have the ticket in your hand you become nervous of the miles of height you are about to fly. The air hostess guides you through the passage and makes you seated on your seat. The initial phase is just a chaos with so may people trying to board in the flight. The air hostess tries her best to calm down the anxiety around. And suddenly we hear a voice that says “Good Morning this is flight captain, and I will be in charge of your flight. My aim is to reach you to your destination in the destined time”.

The captain makes sure that his crew ensures utmost care for the boarded passengers.

And slowly you see your bus moving and you find that the captain set the plain for take off. One after the other the engines start warming up and the voice of the wings get louder and you see the air hostess standing and giving you sets of instructions and tips. She prepares you even for the worst of the situation that may arise in the journey. And at once the captain announces “Ready for take off, passengers please ensure you have your safety belts”. The air hostess moves around and ensures all are well settled with seat belts on.

The flights starts running the runway and the it gears up the speed and you have bums and tough roads you run like a cheetah and there’s a tilting… a perfect tilting at the perfect time that positions you to an angle that takes you constantly deep into the sky. You find you are getting on the top of the world and you see the things outside you grow smaller and smaller and they disappear, in between them all you have wind hitting your flight that gives jerks to you but you know your captain knows how to handle them.

At rare times you find that the flight is too high and there is no air to breathe in…. hand on the captain says this is necessary and down comes a wired mask with gives you surplus oxygen to breathe from the center hub of oxygen stored in for times like these.

When things go fine you have them taken away.

And look at your seats they have life saving jackets and air tubes well fitted and trust me if you have to make an emergency exit, the captain know how to get you ready for it. He throws you in deep waters to make sure you are safe.

And finally after a smooth sail with all the comfort care and love of the captains team you find your destination closer, and closer, your see it clearer and clearer and finally the captain says “Ready for landing please faster your seat belts and there you go down with a steep so speedily that you find it tough at times but at the perfect time he gets the wheels out and touches the destined ground with perfection.

That’s how life is when you anchor your life on the perfect Captain. None other the Jesus can be this Captain who know you very well and knows the destination you have to reach. He has his angels around you to comfort you and care for you. His Holy Spirit as the life saving oxygen for times you find its tough to breath and you have the God as your life saving jacket. How awesome it is to know that your captain is a perfectionist. Make sure you are in His hands for he knows the beginning and the end and is faithful to reach you to the other shore. Why do we need to worry then no matter what may come, He is there for you and he knows what the perfect for you and in that appointed perfect time He will give it to you.

 Amen!

Am I responsible for my personality / character?

Posted by admin On December - 20 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Well, I have yet another debated topic to discuss today. Bible says everyone will be judged according to his or her own deeds.  The point of discussion is the personality or character that I have in me is it inborn or is it how I build it?

Let me take you to Genesis 25:22-27

We see here that Issac had two sons Esau and Jacob. Bible teaches that they were twins and were fighting within the womb of their mother. Bible says about them to be of two nations and the younger will be served by the older. This was predefined and as predicted when Easu and Jacob were born. One was red and tough while the other was a mama’s boy.

Again let me take you to Jeremiah 1:5

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
       before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

What I feel from the above incidents is that God has formed everyone of us unique and our personalities and characters are God given gifts.

Some of us may be the most rebellious ones while some may be the most pious ones. Some may have the character of being silent and some as jovial.

Hence I would say our personality and characters is God gifted. You may now ask me then why will I be judged because of God given character? Why should I be punished for a character that I had in me before I was born. I would say that you are judged or punished by God not for your character but how well can you control and handle your character. If you know that your character is like someone who gets angry fast then you have a greater responsibility of handling your anger so that in your anger you do not commit sin. Let’s keep our character and SIN as different. Having a character does not make you SIN. If you do not control your character you commit sin.

Being a guy, you may very well know that your character is that which can hurt your friends or even lead you both to abuse each other, fight or something worse, you need to have a control on it. Look at Cain and Abel. Cain was a angry guy and could not control his anger. In his anger he killed Abel and you know the story rest. Now look at Esau and Jacob. Esau was tricked by Jacob. Jacob had tricked to get blessings of Esau but look at him. Esau was a red tough guy but he controls it to forgive Jacob in the end. What really matter is how well you can handle your personality and character. How well you can groom it. God has never formed a man to SIN against him, his characters and personality may be different and unique but God gives the free will to one and all of how to live with his character. Either he can be a Cain or can be an Esau.

Let’s think over and not blame God for out our character and personality instead let’s nurture what we have so that it becomes a pleasing aroma to our God.

Blessings
Indeance
