Come let us glorify Him

No other name but the name of Jesus, for He is worthy of honor, He’s worthy of glory, He’s worthy of power and of praise! Amen.

Yes we all know that there is no other name in the earth, in the heavens or in the entire universe other than our Lord Jesus that is worthy for glory and of praise. Its been more than fourteen years of my Christ lead life that I have led praising Him. Lately I was watching Rakhi ka Swayamwar and as I wrote probably this is the first time I realized the importance of the devotional song that she sang. I have been singing this song very often and praising my God but it was this moment that made me search the word of God to find out the qualities of our God, and find why we should glorify and testify Him. As deep I went so deep was my heart filled with love and praise for my God.

Firstly, I realized that praising and glorifying our Lord God is just the reason why we been created.

  • 1 Chronicles 16:28 Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

Psalms 22:23 Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.

Isaiah 42:12 Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.

God, gave us a free will to choose between good and evil and it was His wish that we choose the goodness of our Lord and keep glorifying and testifying of His wonders in our life.

Bible goes to the extend of saying that praises are due to God and we should give Him the due praises for He is worthy of it. 1 Chronicles 16:29

We also would like to find out those good points in God that makes the only eligible God for praises and glory. Yes we need to glorify Him for

  •
    • For He is Holy .

God is holy and his dwelling place is holy. Nations and people come to him and worship Him for His holiness.

Psalms 99:9 Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

Revelation 15:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

  •
    • For His Mercy and truth.

Bible teaches us that His mercy endures forever. God is a God of truth, there is no way we can point out a incident where God said lies whether it was white lies of black lies.

Psalms 115:1 Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.

Romans 15:9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.

  •
    • For He is faithfulness.

Yes, God has repeatedly proved in different incidents in the Bible that God is faithful and just. He has kept the faith of His people and never let them down. In today’s reality we have a blind faith in God and He makes sure that He remains faithful and just to us ensuring the very best for our life, though we may feel that things didn’t happen as we wished for.

Isaiah 25:1 O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

  •
    • For all His wondrous works.

Matthew 15:31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.

Acts 4:21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.

At different incidents when Jesus was in this face of Earth He did wondrous works, works that cannot be explained with any scientific reasons. God has shown His ponderous works from Genesis till Revelation. From Creation to Rapture every act of Him is just amazing and wondrous. How can we then stop glorifying this wondrous God.

  •
    • Judgments.

The God is just and true, executes justice in truth. Every time he has judged, He has ensured that it was for the goodness of His people. May it be the plagues in Egypt, The great flood, The rain of fire on Sodom, The punishments on Israel or the small punishments we receive on daily basis. He judges us and punishes us now so that we are not judged along with the others at the day of Judgment.

Isaiah 25:3 Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.

Ezekiel 28:22 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Zion; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.

Revelation 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

  •
    • For He is a God of Deliverance.

Psalms 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Yes He has delivered Israel, He delivers us from all our troubles and pains. He makes our ways straight and leads us through green pastures

  •
    • For His Grace.

Acts 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

2 Corinthians 9:13 Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;

Galatians 1:24 And they glorified God in me.

Amazing grace, all our life we have been witnessing this. There could have been no way we reach to what we are now without His amazing grace!

  • For the price He paid for us.

1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

A price that God paid for us is no way estimated. It is beyond any monetary price tag, as if we start doing that, the entire collection of dollars, euro, Rupee, Yen and all other currencies will fall short. All that we can do is simply glorify Him for the rest of our days.

  • For the blessings He has done for us.

Isaiah 60:21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Countless are His blessings, for if I start counting them all, I will fall short of my numbers. Every single second of our existence in this earth is itself His blessings. We do not owe it for ourself!

  • For the Heavenly host are engaged in glorifying Him.

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

  • Finally, in Bible we can see so many characters who have set an example for us. Lets quickly look at few of them

David,

Psalms 57:5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.
The Multitude,

Matthew 9:8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

Matthew 15:31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
The Virgin Mary,

Luke 1:46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
Angels,

Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Shepherds,

Luke 2:20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Man sick of the Palsy,

Luke 5:25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.

Leper,

Luke 17:15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
Blind man,

Luke 18:43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
Centurion,

Luke 23:47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.

Abraham,

Romans 4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
Paul,

Romans 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

And the list of these people goes on. How then can we sit back without glorifying and testifying our Lord God for all that He is, He has done and He deserves. Lets make it a point that every single moment of our life, if we get a chance will glorify our God. Let continue to sing His praise and praise Him in everything we do, not because He needs it, but because He simply deserves it.

 Blessings
